The first Standard Poodle that shared my life was purchased in 1977. Since
that time I have bred, under the Carrington prefix, and owned 67 Canadian and
18 American Champions and 2 FCI Int. BIS winners. Many of these Champions
are Puppy Group winners, Best Puppy in show winners, Group Winners and winners
at the Poodle Specialties across Canada, the United States and in Europe.
The greatest thrill of my career in breeding dogs happened at The Poodle Club
of America National Specialty 1998 where a junior puppy bitch that I bred and
own was awarded Reserve Winners Bitch and Best Standard Poodle Puppy. She
has continued her winning ways and completed both her American and Canadian Championships
with Group Firsts in both countries while still a puppy.
I feel it is important to give something back to the people and dogs that
have brought such joy to my life so over the years I have been involved with
many clubs. Currently I am a member of the Ottawa Valley Poodle Club, Versatility
in Poodles, and a member of the Poodle Club of America, as well as being the
Hospitality Chairperson. I was also President and Trustee of the Genodermatosis
Research Foundation.
I am proud to be the breeder of Am/Can Ch Carrington Alias Classic, multiple
Best in Show winner and co-breeder of Am. Can. Ch. Xanadu of Highprofile, two
of the top Standard Poodles in Canada in the year 2000.
